Ternsund’s first LNG bunkering operation after delivery has been completed in Rotterdam port

Ternsund, the first LNG fuelled power chemical tanker in the world, has finished her first voyage and reached Rotterdam port, Netherland in August 8th,2016, and going to show her advanced technology that using LNG as fuel and creative design of LNG fuel gas supply system to local government and counterparts after her first LNG bunkering operation.

 

To ensure the security of LNG bunkering operation, three service engineers were appointed by LGM arrived the port in advance and assisted crews to complete the first LNG bunkering operation after her first voyage at the owner Terntank’s invitation.

 

Under the supervision of local port authority, the work of pre-cooling down and gassing up for LNG storage tanks proceeded smoothly. Liquid nitrogen trucks have been ready before pre-cooling down operation, then start to proceed pre-cooling for LNG storage tanks when ship and shore has been finished connection which was checked by local port authority, the temperature of LNG storage tanks dropped to -160 after fourteen hours pre-cooling down operation. When pre-cooling down was finished, LNG trucks will be used to bunker 100 cube LNG to each tank, after that Ternsund will sail to Goteborg port in gas mode and finish her first gas business voyage after delivery.
