LGM Engineering has got Approval in Principle for “LGM–MMC” type independent tank from ABS

On 2ndJuly 2020, “LGM–MMC” type independent tank, designed by LGM Engineering, has been approved in principle for by ABS. “LGM–MMC” type independent tank is a kind of marine liquid cargo containment with multi-body Type-C stacked storage tank.This is a great step of domestic companies in the area of cargo containment system on gas carriers.

Aiming at the low utilization rate of exsiting Type C cargo tanks used on container ships and ore carriers. LGM Engineering started the R&D on MMC independent tank since early of 2018. One project team developed special “LGM–MMC” type independent tank after experiencing technical reserving, system design & optimization, a unique advantage of multiple Type-C stacked storage tanks finally presents. LGM Engineering carried out FEM calculation and temperature field analysis for various tank forms with different scales, different tank capacities and different stack numbers of the tank body.

In 2019, SIPO has issued patent on the innovative multi-body Type-C stacked independent storage tank developed, which this overlapping structure makes the tank space utilization more than 79%.

MMC Tank Features:

2) Design concept according to IMO Type-C tank, it makes easy for BOG management
